The most populous city in the German state of Saxony, one of the major cities of the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) and the symbolic heart of resistance within communist East Germany (the GDR). Leipzig was the incubator of the "Peaceful Revolution" of 1989. Following decades of dissatisfaction, citizens gathered at the Nikolai Church for Monday Demonstrations, culminating in massive, non-violent protests on the city's ring road effectively broke the East German regime's will to resist and directly paved the way for the fall of the Berlin Wall and German reunification

Stops include: Red Square, the historic, political, and spiritual centre of Russia, Bunker-42, a massive, secret Cold War-era command post built beneath the city to withstand a nuclear attack, the sprawling VDNKh (Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy) park, an extravagant Soviet exhibition center where colossal pavilions showcased the nation's scientific, industrial, and agricultural achievements, offering a dazzling, yet highly curated, vision of communist triumph
Washington D.C., USA: The Western Power 🇺🇸
Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia—was the command centre for the Western Bloc's strategy, technology, and counter-intelligence during the Cold War. We’ll get a grasp of the extent of the U.S. defense apparatus and its modern iteration. Stops include: National Cryptologic Museum, FBI and CIA headquarters, International Spy Museum in downtown D.C.
